Guscio Bed by LeComfort

The Guscio Bed by LeComfort is a distinctive upholstered bed characterised by its sculptural shape and sophisticated capitonné-style tufted headboard. Its generous proportions, curved lines and fine quilting create an enveloping design intended to transform the sleeping area into a comfortable and protected space.

The geometry of Guscio is defined by a flowing grid of upholstered sections that converge towards the centre of the headboard. Rather than appearing flat or rigid, the surface gains depth through the interaction of quilting, padding and carefully controlled fabric tension.

The headboard gently extends around the sleeping area, visually embracing the mattress platform and creating the characteristic cocoon-like appearance that gives the Guscio Bed its identity.

Guscio Bed – Capitonné Upholstered Headboard

The most distinctive feature of the Guscio Bed by LeComfort is its beautifully detailed headboard.

Inspired by traditional capitonné upholstery, its quilted surface is interpreted in a more contemporary and sculptural form. The individual upholstered sections create a rhythmic pattern of soft volumes across the headboard, while the curved overall structure gives the bed an enveloping appearance.

The combination of quilting and generous padding makes Guscio particularly suitable for bedrooms where the bed is intended to become the main visual focal point.

Despite the classical inspiration of the tufting technique, the flowing geometry gives Guscio a distinctly contemporary character.

Natural Characteristics of Capitonné Upholstery

The distinctive appearance of the Guscio headboard is created through a combination of capitonné-style quilting, soft padding, curved surfaces, and tensioned upholstery.

Due to the nature of this upholstery technique and the curved construction of the headboard, slight folds, creases or variations in fabric tension may naturally occur, particularly around the quilted sections and transitions between padded areas.

These subtle variations are characteristic of the design and craftsmanship and should not be considered defects. Their appearance can also vary depending on the thickness, elasticity, and other characteristics of the selected fabric.

This is a natural consequence of creating a deeply upholstered, three-dimensional headboard rather than a completely flat upholstered surface.

Comfortable 30 kg/m³ Padding

The sculptural headboard is constructed using form-stable expanded polyurethane foam with a density of 30 kg/m³, covered with Tecnoform beneath the final upholstery.

The bed frame elements and footboard are also padded with 30 kg/m³ form-stable expanded polyurethane foam and covered with Tecnoform.

This construction gives the Guscio Bed its characteristic soft volumes while providing a stable underlying structure.

Fabric and Textile Upholstery

Guscio is available in a wide selection of fabric and textile upholstery and is not available in leather.

Importantly, the upholstery removability differs between individual parts of the bed.

Only the bed frame upholstery is removable. The headboard upholstery is not removable.

Composition, cleaning and washing instructions depend on the selected fabric and should always be checked on the corresponding upholstery label.

The bed frame and the front of the headboard can also be upholstered in a different covering from the rear of the headboard, allowing the appearance and material combination to be personalised.

If fabrics from different price categories are selected, the price of the highest selected category applies.

Strong Internal Construction

Behind the upholstered exterior is a robust internal structure manufactured from E1-class wood fibreboard and solid wood.

The headboard panel, side rails and footboard use this construction to provide the structural support required for the substantial upholstered design.

For versions equipped with the CONTENITORE or STAY mechanism, the internal bottom panels are manufactured from E1-class wood fibreboard and finished with melamine resin.

Multiple Bed Base Options

The Guscio Bed by LeComfort can be configured with several different slatted bed bases.

The FLAT, TWIN, FINE, TRIO and HEAD models feature a 40 × 30 mm steel frame, finished with anthracite grey powder coating and equipped with wooden slats.

The LUX bed base provides an alternative construction made from solid wood and equipped with wooden slats.

Bed base height: 32 cm.

This range of options allows the bed to be configured according to individual functional requirements and the chosen bed-frame design.

Optional CONTENITORE and STAY Storage

For additional bedroom storage, the Guscio Bed can be equipped with a CONTENITORE or STAY mechanism.

These versions use high-resistance steel actuators, finished with grey powder coating and assisted by a gas-spring mechanism.

The lifting system provides convenient access to the storage compartment beneath the mattress, creating useful space for bedding, blankets, pillows and other bedroom essentials.

Storage capacity depends on the selected bed frame:

Floor / Round bed frame:
Useful internal storage height – 19 cm

Fly bed frame:
Useful internal storage height – 12 cm

Optional Retractable Lights with USB

For additional functionality, the Guscio Bed by LeComfort can be equipped with extractable lights with an integrated USB connection.

The lighting features touch control and two intensity levels, allowing the illumination to be adjusted according to your needs.

The lights can be extended when required and discreetly integrated with the bed when not in use.

The extractable lighting system is available at an additional charge.

Feet and Frame Options

Guscio is available with a selection of standard and optional feet and finishes.

The Split feet set consists of:

2 decorative feet positioned beneath the footboard
2 structural feet positioned beneath the headboard

With the Fly bed frame, the Blade and Raf foot sets also consist of:

2 decorative feet positioned beneath the footboard
2 structural feet positioned beneath the headboard

These options allow the lower profile of the bed to be coordinated with the overall bedroom design.

Adjustable Bed Base Supports

Adjustable corner supports for the bed base are available with the Floor and Round bed frames.

These accessories provide additional adjustment for correct bed-base positioning and support.

Dimensions and Upholstered Furniture Tolerance

The overall bed height is calculated using the standard feet.

Because the Guscio Bed is manufactured using supple, elastic upholstery and substantial soft padding, small variations in the finished dimensions are normal.

Actual dimensions may vary by approximately ±3 cm.

This tolerance is a natural characteristic of upholstered furniture and should be considered when positioning the bed in spaces where dimensions are particularly restricted.

The same principle applies to the visual appearance of the quilted headboard. Due to its three-dimensional capitonné construction, minor folds, creases and differences in upholstery tension are normal characteristics of the product and are not considered manufacturing defects.

A Sculptural Centrepiece for the Bedroom

The Guscio Bed by LeComfort is particularly suited to interiors where the bed is intended to become the centrepiece of the room.

Its enveloping headboard provides considerably more visual presence than a conventional flat upholstered bed, while the detailed quilting introduces texture and depth.

Lighter fabrics can emphasise the shadows and three-dimensional structure of the capitonné pattern, while darker colours can create a more dramatic and architectural appearance.

The result is a bed that combines classical upholstery craftsmanship with a much more contemporary sculptural form.

Customise Your Guscio Bed by LeComfort

Choose from the extensive LeComfort collection of fabrics, colours and textures, configure the front and rear headboard upholstery and select the bed base, storage mechanism, feet and optional lighting that best suit your bedroom.

For additional functionality, Guscio can be equipped with a CONTENITORE or STAY storage system, while optional retractable lights provide convenient bedside illumination, touch control, two intensity levels and USB connectivity.
