Barbados Sofa-Bed by LeComfort

The Barbados Sofa-Bed by LeComfort combines compact proportions, contemporary styling, and the comfort of a generous double bed. Designed for modern homes where furniture often needs to perform more than one function, Barbados maintains the elegant appearance of a refined sofa during the day and transforms effortlessly into a comfortable sleeping solution at night.

Its distinctive design includes an adjustable reclining headrest and a choice of four armrest styles, allowing the appearance and overall dimensions of the sofa to be adapted to different interiors.

At night, a patented mechanism opens the Barbados Sofa-Bed in one smooth movement. There is no need to remove the seat or back cushions, while a substantial 17 cm polyurethane foam mattress provides the dedicated sleeping surface.

Free delivery throughout Europe on orders over €2,000.

Barbados Sofa-Bed – Compact Design and Adjustable Comfort

Barbados has been designed around harmoniously balanced volumes and a relatively compact profile.

Its clean proportions make it suitable for apartments, guest rooms and multifunctional living spaces, while the choice of armrests allows the overall character of the sofa to be personalised.

An important feature is the reclining headrest, which provides additional support when relaxing. The headrest can be adjusted according to the desired seating position while also contributing to the contemporary profile of the sofa.

This combination of compact dimensions and adjustable comfort allows Barbados to function as a genuine everyday sofa rather than simply a bed concealed within upholstered furniture.

Four Armrest Options

The Barbados Sofa-Bed by LeComfort is available with four different armrest designs.

Round – 9 cm
A softly shaped armrest that gives the sofa a more rounded and welcoming appearance.

Strong – 19 cm
The widest option, creating a more substantial and visually grounded profile.

Happy – 8 cm
A compact alternative that maintains balanced proportions while reducing overall width.

Slim – 7 cm
The narrowest armrest option, particularly suitable when efficient use of available space is important.

The armchair-bed is available with the Slim armrest.

Choosing a narrower armrest can be particularly useful in smaller rooms because it allows more of the overall width to be dedicated to the seating and sleeping area.

Easy Sofa-to-Bed Transformation

The Barbados Sofa-Bed uses a patented opening mechanism designed to make the transition between sofa and bed straightforward.

Its polished steel base is finished with high-resistance powder coating for durability.

The mechanism allows the Barbados to open and close in one simple, fluid movement without removing the seat or back cushions.

This is particularly valuable when the bed is used regularly. There is no need to find additional storage space for loose sofa cushions every time the sleeping function is required.

Once closed, the mattress and sleeping mechanism remain discreetly concealed inside the sofa.

17 cm Polyurethane Foam Mattress

A particularly important feature of Barbados is its generous 17 cm mattress.

The supplied polyurethane foam mattress has a specified density of 25 kg/m³ and a height of 17 cm at its centre. Because of the mattress construction, this measurement refers to the centre rather than the edges.

The increased mattress thickness makes Barbados particularly interesting for customers looking for a sofa-bed intended for more than occasional overnight use.

An optional fireproof mattress is also available for projects where additional fire-resistance specifications are required.

Integrated Pillow Storage

The backrest incorporates storage for pillows, adding another practical feature to the Barbados design.

Sleeping pillows can be stored directly within the sofa when the bed is closed, reducing the need for separate storage elsewhere in the room.

Combined with the concealed mattress and integrated opening mechanism, this creates a more complete sleeping solution within a single piece of furniture.

Strong Internal Construction

Behind the upholstered exterior, the Barbados Sofa-Bed by LeComfort uses a combination of steel, solid wood, and engineered wood components.

The supporting frame is manufactured from painted steel, while solid pine wood of various thicknesses forms part of the internal structure.

The remaining structural components use Class E1 wood particleboard panels, with additional details manufactured from hard or cellulose wood-based panels.

The structure is completely covered with Tecnoform beneath the final upholstery.

This construction provides the support required for furniture designed to perform both seating and sleeping functions.

Cross-Elastic Belt Seat Support

The seat is supported by cross-elastic belts integrated into the bed-base mechanism.

This allows the seating support and convertible mechanism to function together within the compact structure of the sofa.

During the day, Barbados provides comfortable seating with adjustable head support. At night, the same structure accommodates the integrated mattress and bed mechanism.

Sofa-Bed and Armchair-Bed Configurations

The Barbados Sofa-Bed is available in several configurations to suit different room sizes and sleeping requirements.

Specified widths are:

2-seater sofa-bed: 72 cm
3-seater sofa-bed: 82 cm
3-seater Maxi sofa-bed: 92 cm
Armchair-bed: 93 cm

These are the manufacturer’s specified seat widths, not the complete external dimensions of the furniture. The final overall width depends on the selected configuration and armrest design.

The sofa-bed can be configured with Round, Strong, Happy, or Slim armrests, while the armchair-bed is available with the Slim armrest.

Additional Dimensions

Seat height from floor: 52 cm
Seat depth: 54 cm
Back structure height from floor: 75 cm
Feet height: 8 cm

The relatively compact 54 cm seat depth contributes to the balanced proportions of Barbados, while the reclining headrest allows additional support to be introduced when required.

Designed for Modern Multifunctional Interiors

The Barbados Sofa-Bed by LeComfort is particularly suitable for homes where efficient use of space needs to be combined with everyday comfort.

In a living room, Barbados functions as a contemporary sofa with adjustable headrests. When guests stay overnight, the integrated mechanism quickly converts it into a double bed.

It can also work particularly well in apartments, home offices and dedicated guest rooms where permanently allocating floor space to a conventional bed may not be practical.

The choice of four armrests provides additional flexibility. The narrow Slim and Happy options help keep the overall dimensions compact, while Round and Strong create a more substantial upholstered appearance.
