Metropolitan Bed by LeComfort

The Metropolitan Bed by LeComfort combines elegant proportions, a gently sloping upholstered headboard and a visually light structure supported by four slender legs. Its design is characterised by restrained lines and a sophisticated profile, creating a bed that feels substantial and comfortable without appearing visually heavy.

The headboard seems to rise naturally from the bed frame before gently arching backwards, giving Metropolitan its distinctive silhouette. The raised structure and slender feet further emphasise the lightness of the design, making the bed particularly suitable for contemporary bedrooms where clean proportions and understated elegance are important.

Available in fabric, textile or leather upholstery, Metropolitan offers different practical characteristics depending on the selected material. Fabric and textile versions feature completely removable upholstery, while in leather the bed-frame upholstery is removable.

Free delivery throughout Europe on orders over €2,000.

Metropolitan Bed – Elegant Curves and a Light Structure

The defining characteristic of the Metropolitan Bed by LeComfort is the relationship between its slender supporting feet and gently inclined headboard.

Rather than creating a completely vertical upholstered surface, the headboard follows a subtle backwards curve. This gives the bed a softer silhouette while preserving the clean architectural character of the overall design.

Four slender legs visually lift the upholstered structure away from the floor. This creates a lighter appearance and makes the bed particularly well suited to modern interiors where visual simplicity is preferred.

The original design can be enhanced through the choice of upholstery, from soft and tactile textiles to more structured leather finishes.

Padded Sloping Headboard

The headboard of the Metropolitan Bed is constructed from E1-class wood fibreboard and solid wood, providing a strong internal foundation for the upholstered structure.

It is padded with form-stable expanded polyurethane foam with a density of 30 kg/m³ and covered with Tecnoform beneath the final upholstery.

The gently sloping form creates the distinctive profile of Metropolitan and softens the otherwise precise geometry of the bed.

The side rails and footboard are also padded with 30 kg/m³ form-stable expanded polyurethane foam and covered with Tecnoform, maintaining a consistent upholstered appearance around the entire bed frame.

Fabric, Textile or Leather Upholstery

One of the advantages of the Metropolitan Bed by LeComfort is the possibility of choosing between different upholstery materials.

In fabric or textile, the upholstery is completely removable. Cleaning and washing requirements depend on the selected covering, so the care instructions provided on the individual fabric label should always be followed.

Metropolitan is also available in leather. With leather upholstery, only the bed-frame covering is removable.

Because the hides used are natural materials, additional stitching may sometimes be necessary compared with fabric-upholstered versions. These construction details are a natural consequence of working with genuine hides and their individual dimensions and characteristics.

The rear of the bed is not finished in leather when leather upholstery is selected.

Single-Colour Configuration

The Metropolitan Bed is available in a single-colour configuration.

Mixed leather and fabric or mixed leather and textile configurations are not available.

The single-colour approach complements the clean design particularly well, allowing the curved headboard, slender legs and overall proportions to remain the principal visual features.

A neutral textile can create a softer and calmer appearance, while darker upholstery can emphasise the architectural profile of the bed.

FLAT, TWIN, FINE and TRIO Bed Bases

The Metropolitan Bed by LeComfort is available with several mattress-supporting bed-base configurations:

FLAT
TWIN
FINE
TRIO

These bed bases feature a strong 40 × 30 mm steel frame, finished with anthracite grey powder coating.

The steel structure supports wooden slats, creating the mattress-supporting surface within the upholstered bed.

This construction combines the visually light external appearance of Metropolitan with a robust internal supporting system.

E1-Class Wood and Solid Wood Structure

Beneath the upholstery, the main structural components of Metropolitan are manufactured from a combination of E1-class wood fibreboard and solid wood.

This construction is used for the headboard panel, side rails and footboard.

The structural elements are then padded with form-stable polyurethane and upholstered in the selected fabric, textile or leather, creating the clean continuous appearance of the finished bed.

Slender Feet and Raised Design

The four slender legs are an important part of the character of the Metropolitan Bed.

Rather than extending the upholstered frame directly towards the floor, the feet create visual separation between the bed and the surrounding surface.

This elevated appearance helps Metropolitan maintain a lighter profile despite its generously padded headboard and upholstered frame.

Standard feet are complemented by optional foot designs and finishes, allowing the final configuration to be adapted to the selected upholstery and surrounding bedroom furniture.

A Refined Choice for Contemporary Interiors

The restrained character of the Metropolitan Bed by LeComfort makes it suitable for a broad range of bedroom interiors.

In lighter neutral fabrics, Metropolitan can create a calm and understated atmosphere. Warm beige, cream, taupe and grey shades work naturally with wood, stone and other contemporary materials.

Darker textiles can make the gently curved headboard more pronounced, while leather gives the bed a more structured appearance and highlights its clean lines.

Because Metropolitan relies on proportion, upholstery and subtle curvature rather than excessive decoration, it can remain visually relevant as the surrounding interior changes over time.

Customise Your Metropolitan Bed by LeComfort

The Metropolitan Bed by LeComfort combines a gently sloping headboard, four slender legs and carefully padded construction with a choice of fabric, textile or leather upholstery.

Choose from the available LeComfort fabrics, colours, textures and leather options, together with the preferred FLAT, TWIN, FINE or TRIO bed-base configuration and available foot finishes.
