Donovan Bed by LeComfort

The Donovan Bed by LeComfort combines refined Italian upholstered design with exceptionally practical integrated features. More than simply a place to sleep, Donovan has been designed as a complete bedroom solution, incorporating an extractable bookshelf, retractable LED reading lights with USB connection, and optional under-bed storage.

Its upholstered headboard is softened by two generous pillow-style cushions finished with elegant decorative piping. Hidden within the headboard are functional elements that remain discreet when not in use, preserving the clean and sophisticated appearance of the bed.

With extensive fabric customisation, several bed-base options and practical storage mechanisms available, the Donovan Bed by LeComfort brings together comfort, technology and intelligent use of space.

Donovan Bed – Integrated Bookshelf and Smart Design

One of the most distinctive features of the Donovan Bed is its cleverly designed headboard with an extractable bookcase.

When required, the integrated shelving provides convenient space for books and personal items. When not needed, it can be retracted to maintain the clean appearance of the headboard.

This intelligent solution is particularly useful in bedrooms where space is limited or where a more minimal alternative to traditional bedside storage is preferred.

The combination of storage and upholstered comfort makes Donovan considerably more functional than a conventional upholstered bed.

Retractable LED Reading Lights with USB

The Donovan Bed by LeComfort also incorporates retractable lighting directly into the headboard.

The integrated LED lights feature touch controls with two intensity levels, allowing the light output to be adjusted according to your needs. The lights can be extended when required for reading or softer evening illumination and discreetly retracted when not in use.

A USB connection is also integrated into the lighting system, adding useful everyday functionality around the sleeping area.

By incorporating lighting directly into the bed, Donovan can reduce the need for additional reading lamps while helping to keep the bedroom visually clean and uncluttered.

Soft Upholstered Headboard with Pillow Cushions

Technology and functionality are balanced by a soft, inviting upholstered design.

Two generously padded pillow-style elements soften the headboard and are finished with elegant decorative trim. Their relaxed appearance provides a beautiful contrast to the architectural bookshelf and lighting elements incorporated into the design.

The headboard uses form-stable expanded polyurethane foam with a density of 30 kg/m³, covered with Tecnoform.

The side rails and footboard are also padded with 30 kg/m³ form-stable polyurethane foam and covered with Tecnoform, creating a consistent upholstered finish around the entire bed.

Fully Removable Fabric Upholstery

The Donovan Bed is available in a wide selection of LeComfort fabrics and textile upholstery.

Its upholstery is completely removable, making maintenance considerably more practical. Cleaning and washing requirements vary according to the selected textile, so the specific care instructions supplied with each upholstery should always be followed.

Donovan is not available in leather.

The extensive LeComfort fabric collection allows the bed to be personalised in neutral shades such as cream, beige, sand and warm grey or in richer colours for a more distinctive bedroom interior.

Customise the Fabrics and Decorative Piping

The Donovan Bed by LeComfort offers extensive upholstery customisation.

Different fabrics can be selected for the headboard and bed frame, while the decorative piping can also be personalised to create either a coordinated or contrasting finish.

When fabrics from different price categories are combined, the price of the highest selected fabric category applies to the bed.

Importantly, the choice of upholstery for the decorative piping does not change the price category, providing additional freedom to create contrasting details without affecting the upholstery category of the bed.

Strong Wood-Based Construction

Behind the soft upholstered exterior is a robust structure manufactured from E1-class wood fibreboard and solid wood.

The headboard panel, side rails and footboard use this construction to provide a stable foundation for everyday use.

For versions equipped with the CONTENITORE or STAY storage mechanism, the internal bottom panels are made from E1-class fibreboard finished with melamine resin.

Multiple Bed Base Options

The Donovan Bed can be configured with several bed-base solutions.

The FLAT, TWIN, FINE, TRIO and HEAD bed-base models use a strong 40 × 30 mm steel frame, finished in anthracite grey powder coating and equipped with wooden slats.

The LUX bed base uses a solid wood structure combined with wooden slats.

This selection makes it possible to configure Donovan according to individual comfort and functional requirements.

Practical Under-Bed Storage

Donovan can also be equipped with a spacious storage compartment beneath the mattress.

The CONTENITORE and STAY mechanisms use high-resistance steel actuators finished with grey powder coating and assisted by a gas-spring lifting mechanism.

This makes accessing the storage compartment easier while maintaining a clean upholstered appearance when the bed is closed.

The storage area is ideal for bedding, blankets, pillows, and other bedroom essentials.

Useful internal storage height: 19 cm

Bed base height: 32 cm

Adjustable corner supports are also provided for the bed-base support.

Foot Options

Different standard and optional feet and finishes are available to further personalise the appearance of the Donovan bed.

With the Fly bed frame, the Blade and Raf foot sets consist of:

2 decorative feet positioned beneath the footboard
2 structural feet positioned beneath the headboard

The selected foot design can give Donovan either a lighter, more elevated appearance or a more substantial presence within the bedroom.

A Complete Bedroom Solution

The Donovan Bed by LeComfort is particularly interesting for customers looking for more than a conventional upholstered bed.

Its combination of an extractable bookshelf, retractable two-level LED lighting, USB connection, and optional under-bed storage integrates several useful bedroom functions into one sophisticated design.

At the same time, these practical elements remain discreetly incorporated into the upholstered structure, allowing Donovan to maintain the elegant appearance expected from contemporary Italian bedroom furniture.

Customise Your Donovan Bed by LeComfort

Choose from an extensive selection of LeComfort fabrics, colours and decorative piping, select your preferred bed base and add the storage configuration that best suits your requirements.

With its soft pillow-style headboard, integrated technology and intelligent storage solutions, the Donovan Bed by LeComfort offers an excellent combination of Italian design, comfort and everyday functionality.
